Clinical Research with the Duovive

Fractional laser technology continues to evolve, offering physicians new ways to treat acne scarring, pigmentation, photoaging, and overall skin rejuvenation. A recently published peer-reviewed case series evaluated the clinical performance of the Duovive, a next-generation solid-state 1550/1927 nm dual-wavelength fractional laser, highlighting its safety, effectiveness, and workflow advantages across a range of aesthetic indications.

The study reviewed 18 treatment sessions in 10 patients and reported improvements in skin texture, pigmentation, and acne scarring with minimal downtime. Researchers also found the treatments to be well tolerated, with many procedures performed without the need for topical anesthesia. No cases of scarring, infection, or permanent pigmentary changes were observed during the study. One of the key innovations discussed is the use of a solid-state, disposable-free optical design with customizable treatment patterns. According to the authors, this approach enables physicians to tailor energy delivery for both broad resurfacing and targeted treatment of localized concerns while eliminating the need for disposable tips or cartridges. The study also notes potential benefits in workflow efficiency, treatment consistency, and sustainability.

Dr. Harib and Dr. Miesha concluded that this next-generation platform represents a meaningful advancement in fractional resurfacing by combining customizable treatment design with reliable clinical outcomes and improved procedural efficiency. While additional prospective studies with larger patient populations are warranted, these findings contribute to the growing body of research supporting innovation in energy-based aesthetic medicine.

At Apolomed, we remain committed to advancing medical aesthetics through technology, education, and collaboration with the clinical community. We are honored that our FDA-cleared dual-wavelength platform was featured in this peer-reviewed research and will continue supporting healthcare professionals with innovative solutions designed to improve both provider experience and patient care.
